I just barely finished my office in time to be able to share with Karen's "Where Bloggers Create" party this year. It feels so nice to have some organization back to this area which had become much neglected and full of clutter.
It is a nice sized room where I can relax and read a book or my favorite JDL magazines in a comfy leather chair and also where I sit at my desk and blog or pay bills. There are many drawers, boxes and shelving for storage and an old baby crib spring that I can use as an inspiration board. The architectural elements over my shelf is a nice added touch as well. Enjoy! xoxo K.
I love this little corner desk with an industrial lamp and old typewriter, which I receive many poems or letter from my youngest daughter. She loves to type away on that thing.
I found the "office" sign over a year ago and am so glad to finally have it hung. My husband made the top of my desk to fit two cabinets and I love how large it is with the sides to actually be able to write on or keep my printer.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all the other inspiration on Karen's blog.

I love how you have everything so organized and uncluttered! My office looks like a tornado blew through it a few times. I have lots of "stuff" as is, but I'm always working on something, so there is always stuff out. I have a baby crib springs set too. I have in the playroom for my grandkids, and they hang their artwork on it and I put pixs of them on it as well. Have a great week-end!
ReplyDeleteTake care, Sue
Hey Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteYour room looks wonderful. You've put it all together to create such a special, warm and comfortable space...perfectly organized with interesting touches throughout!
I didn't even realize it was time for this event, and I have been working on my studio all week. I just move so slowly these days, and I'm determined to really organize, not just put stuff out of sight (my husband's favorite way). I started out wanting to have a bon fire, but it's coming along. I won't be joining the party, but I may post soon. I'm looking forward to hanging the 'Inspire' banner that I won from you way back in a special place!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Susie
Kathleen, your creative space is so serene~ though I'll admit as a kindergarten teacher, you won me over with your chalkboard.

ReplyDeleteOh Kathleen, it is just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI love the mix of rich woods, worn leather, and rustic whites, it is just a perfect mix of your gorgeous treasures!!~
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
Sincerely,

I love the room. It is rustic and industrial and creative.
ReplyDeleteThat typewriter it is so interesting, and it is much older than the one I found for my poet and writer. A typewriter was on the top of my daughter's Christmas list. There is something appealing about it to children. Perhaps the simplicity of another time....
Oh Wow I am so inpsired. I have seen some magnificent office/craft spaces and this is one of my favorites. I am pinning lots of pictures on my dream boards! I always love your uses for salvage pieces and "junk" which become art in the ways you display them. Fantastique!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your workspace...and that reading nook with the worn leather chair is stunning! of course, so is the vintage typewriter and table set! gorgeous....thanks so much for sharing...you are inspiring.

Hi Kathleen
ReplyDeleteA beautiful place to create - it has a feeling of tattered and worn with your comfy chair, (makes me feel totally relaxed!), books, old typewriter and those divine little filing drawers.
Who would have thought of a spring base for an inspiration board - I love that!
Thank you for sharing your inspirations with us and hopefully I can reciprocate.
Have a wonderful week touring,
Suzy

Well, I took a break from the everyday chores to be done and saw your post for your studio space! My first love is decorating, also, along with road trips to find inspiration. Right now I am redecorating the upstairs bedrooms and, as much as I love color, I enjoy the serenity of creams and their variations! Thanks so much for sharing and do come and visit my blog when you get a chance... I would love to have you over!!

ReplyDeleteThis space is fantastic! Love the serene feel of the black and white. It's all just wonderful, but my two favorite items are your crib spring and the vintage file cabinet with the white washed finish. I have a vintage typewriter like that which I love.
